Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Celia. I’m an illustration and art student based in London.
What inspires you?
I feel specially inspired when I am surrounded by people. I find discussions and generally conversations very stimulating. I like looking at people and how they behave, the differences between them and between myself and the rest of the world.
Aside from that I feel really drawn to the physicality and materiality of objects. The essence of materials and it’s most basic aspects such as colour and texture.
What themes do you pursue?
I try not to always work around the same themes. But normally my work has a really human emphasis. Feelings and people’s actions and reactions to whatever surounds them.
I can’t think of anything else I’d be able to do and enjoy as much.
Name some artists you would like to be compared to.
I have lately been really interested in artist Laura Letinsky. But I don’t think any comparison is possible. I am not even sure I want to be compared, I’d rather just be inspired.
