Who are you and what do you do?
I am Eric Saudi, I use drawing techniques to create my work, often my work is on paper.
What inspires you?
Passive, quiet altars, and drawings that give up more then what explicitly drawn. Lately I’ve been reading writings by architects and artist who made chapels. While thinking about streets, walls where prostitutes would work in the Bronx, where I grew up.
What themes do you pursue?
I’m not sure about themes, I see my work as a landscape painter, and yes my work is minimal, but I’m more concern about what mood it conveys. That the air between the viewer the piece is felt.
It’s stressful, confusing, argumentative, personal, small, traditional, and it’s exhausting.
